TCA Bill of Rights


Model TCA Program Member’s Bill of Rights

  • TC Program members have the right to be treated with dignity and respect.
  • TC Program members have the right to receive treatment without regard to race, creed, gender, or sexual preference.
  • TC Program members have the right to be informed in writing and prior to entering the program of any sanctions, disciplinary measures and modification of rights.
  • TC Program members have the right to be informed in writing before entering the program of all existing rules and regulations.
  • TC Program members have the right to register complaints about the administration of rules, regulations, sanctions, disciplinary measures and modification of rights through a program member’s grievance procedure approved by the agency’s Board of Directors.
  • TC Program members have the right to examine their records within the guidelines approved by the agency’s Board of Directors, and to rebut any information in their records by inserting a counter-statement of clarification.
  • TC Program members have the right to know of any fee to be charged, the methods and schedules of payment, including the turning over of monies from public assistance, grants, food stamps, SSI, etc.
  • TC Program members have the right to have any information regarding their identification and participation in the program.
  • TC Program members have the right to discharge themselves at any time.
  • TC Program members have the right to have their religious beliefs respected.
  • TC Program members have the right to communicate by mail, telegram, phone and other forms of private communication, unless such prohibition or codification is documented as part of the treatment plan.
  • TC Program members have the right to be free from corporal punishment, physical abuse and involuntary physical confinement.
  • TC Program members have the right to nutritious food, safe and adequate lodging, physical exercise, and personal hygiene needs.
