Last week, the Senate Appropriations Committee passed a FY24 funding bill for several priority agencies including the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and others within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The bill proposes to increase the Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services by $40 million, and increase the Mental Health Block Grant by $35 million.
